Archana Rajguru ‘primary subjects of interest are human psychology, nature and behavior and together their latent interpretations inspire her art. Whatever concept she explores, she takes reference from her surroundings and uses it as a metaphor to express her ideas.
Thread, which is a key material characterizing her artistic practice was a childhood obsession, coming to use in paintings to express lines and other forms. However, the satisfaction and immense pleasure it evoked led her to merge painting and thread work, rather than employ them as separate entities. Over the recent years, she has been extending the visual vocabulary of the thread to work on a masks and exploring the form further led to a wide array of possibilities leading the art form of the mask to acquire a human face, bringing her face to face once again with the primary subjects of her practice.
